Laca Text Italic

Laca Text Italic is a sophisticated sans-serif typeface designed by Joana Correia as part of the broader Laca family under Nova Type Foundry. This specific weight is a refinement of the original Laca, which drew inspiration from the retro and nostalgic aesthetics of mid-20th-century Portuguese soap packaging. While the original series was built for display purposes, the Text version was meticulously re-engineered to prioritize legibility and clarity, making it an exceptional choice for intensive reading environments.

The Italic variant provides a graceful, rhythmic slant that complements the upright weights without losing the humanist warmth that defines the family. It features generous x-heights, open apertures, and subtle geometric influences that allow it to perform beautifully across both print and digital media. Its design bridges the gap between classic industrial charm and modern professional utility, offering a versatile tool for designers who require a font that is both functional and full of personality.
