Neue Frutiger World Light Italic

Neue Frutiger World Light Italic is a sophisticated expansion of the legendary Frutiger typeface, originally conceived by Adrian Frutiger in 1975 for the Charles de Gaulle Airport wayfinding system. This specific iteration was refined by Monotype’s Creative Type Director, Akira Kobayashi, to meet the demands of modern global communication. It retains the signature humanist warmth and exceptional legibility of the original while introducing a carefully balanced slant that adds emphasis without sacrificing character clarity.

The 'World' version of this typeface is a monumental achievement in typography, supporting more than 150 languages across various scripts including Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic, and more. The Light Italic weight is particularly prized for its airy, elegant feel, making it an ideal choice for secondary text, pull quotes, and sophisticated branding. Its open apertures and distinct letterforms ensure that the font remains highly readable even in challenging environmental conditions or on low-resolution digital screens.
