Obviously Comp Blck Regular

Obviously Comp Blck Regular is a powerhouse typeface designed by James Edmondson and released via the OH no Type Co in 2018. Part of a massive family that explores the extremes of width and weight, the Compressed Black variant is specifically engineered for high-impact communication. It draws heavy inspiration from the soulful, hand-painted signage of the mid-20th century, particularly the bold vinyl lettering found in grocery stores and hardware shops, while maintaining a refined, modern digital construction.

This typeface is defined by its incredibly narrow profile and massive stroke weight, making it an essential tool for designers working with limited horizontal space. Whether used in editorial layouts or digital interfaces, Obviously Comp Blck Regular provides a rhythmic, vertical texture that is both authoritative and stylish. Its tight counters and sturdy forms ensure legibility even at massive scales, making it a favorite for contemporary branding and provocative poster design.
