Obviously Comp Supr Regular

Obviously Comp Supr Regular is a prominent member of the expansive Obviously family, designed by James Edmondson and released through the OH no Type Co foundry in 2018. This specific variant, Compressed Super, represents the extreme narrow end of the typeface's width spectrum. Drawing heavy inspiration from mid-century American signage and vernacular lettering, the font captures a unique balance between historical utility and contemporary flair, making it an essential tool for high-impact visual communication.

The construction of Obviously Comp Supr Regular focuses on maximizing vertical impact while minimizing horizontal footprint. Unlike traditional condensed fonts that can feel cramped, this typeface maintains a high level of legibility and a rhythmic flow. It is particularly noted for its grotesque characteristics and quirky, energetic details that prevent it from feeling sterile. It has become a staple in modern editorial design and branding for those seeking a typeface that is both authoritative and full of personality.
